COPPER TUBE FOR AIR CONDITIONING AND REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS

Split-Service offers high-quality copper tubes from a leading European manufacturer – Halcor (Greece), specially designed for the reliable and efficient operation of air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration systems.

Features and benefits

  • Form of supply: Copper tube is supplied in convenient coils (in an annealed, or soft, state for easy installation) or in straight lengths (cold-drawn for applications that require greater rigidity).
  • Protection and sealing: Each end of the tube is reliably closed with plugs, which completely prevents dust, dirt, insects, and moisture from getting inside during transportation and storage. Additionally, each coil has hermetic polyethylene packaging for maximum protection.
  • High copper purity: Our copper tube has a purity level of 99.9% (Cu > 99.97%, P < 0.028%). This high purity allows the material to withstand significant temperature fluctuations and work successfully with various refrigerants (freons), ensuring system stability and durability.
  • Compliance with standards: The products meet the strict requirements of the international refrigeration tube standard ASTM B-280, which are harmonized with ISO-9002 and EN 12735. This guarantees its high quality and reliability for professional use.

Selecting tube diameter and wall thickness

For the reliable and efficient operation of air conditioners and refrigeration systems, the correct choice of copper tube diameter for transporting the refrigerant is critically important. On one hand, the diameter must be large enough to minimize pressure losses. On the other hand, an excessively large diameter is limited by the necessary refrigerant velocity to ensure oil return to the compressor. Our wide selection of diameters allows us to accurately meet these requirements.

Diameters: We offer copper tubes in a wide range of sizes – from 1/4" (6.35 mm) to 4.1/8" (104.78 mm).

Inch system: The tube diameter is measured in inches (for example, 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", etc.). This is the traditional system for many refrigeration and air conditioning systems, especially those from European and American equipment manufacturers.

Metric system: Measured in millimeters (for example, 6 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm, etc.). This system is more common in some regions and is used for certain types of equipment.

Important! When choosing tubes, always check the diameter requirements of the equipment you are installing, as slight differences between the inch and metric equivalents (for example, 1/4" is 6.35 mm, not exactly 6 mm) can affect the system’s compatibility and efficiency. We have both types available for your convenience.

Wall thickness: Special emphasis should be placed on the strength of our copper tube due to its carefully considered wall thickness. The minimum thickness is 0.71 mm for a 1/4" diameter tube, gradually increasing for larger sizes, and reaching 2.79 mm for a 4.1/8" tube. This ensures high strength and reliability of connections under working pressure.

Additional components and accessories

All our copper tube is soft and easy to work with. It is easy to solder, bend, and withstands repeated flaring, which greatly simplifies installation work.

Copper tubes are usually connected using special copper fittings and high-quality copper-phosphorus solder with a silver content of 2% to 40%. This ensures the most reliable and hermetic soldered connections and system integrity.

All copper tubes can be complemented for a complete installation:
Synthetic rubber insulation - for optimal thermal insulation and condensation prevention.
Foamed polyethylene - as an additional insulating material.

For quick and convenient installation, we also offer:

  • Metal hangers with threaded rods of various diameters, which ensure reliable tube fastening.
